The Rules of the Race
The race begins on August 27, 2014 and ends on August 27, 2016
Updates will be posted quarterly on each contestant’s page. Final results will be posted approximately 30 days after the end of the race.
1. Miles are counted for each contestant and team scores are added together.
2. If a contestant goes missing, the remaining member of the team is still in the race.
3. 100 points will be added to each contestant’s score for each unique geocacher who retrieves and drops off a contestant. (Discoverers will not count.)
4. 100 extra points will be added for each unique state, province, or country visited by each contestant.
5. 100 extra points will be added if the contestant returns and is in a cache in Michigan at the end of the race.
