The mission for this pretty coin is to hang out in my collection and be discovered by other trackers.
This Elemental Warm Water Geocoin features artwork based on a Japanese theme involving koi fish and ocean currents. In traditional Japanese culture, koi fish are associated with feelings of love and affection and serve as symbols tied to friendship. The moon depicted on the back side of the geocoin is also a cultural symbol representing one of the four beauties in nature. Many stories, paintings and poetry have expressed admiration for the glowing ball in the sky.
The body of the koi fishes features special enamel that imitates the shimmering scales of the Ogon koi variety. In nature, Ogon koi’s scales shine with a metallic gold luster. The Elemental Warm Water Geocoin accurately emulates this luster. On the back, ocean currents rise up and form a ribbon around a glowing moon in the sky. Glow-in-the-dark enamel on the moon is viewable in low light conditions. The bright blue and green enamels covering the front and the back of the geocoin represent the warmer ocean waters of the Pacific Ocean.
