This was a happy surprise in a geocache near the Snohomish River about 25 miles from Seattle. This part of the Snohomish valley floods from time to time. To protect lives and farmland, they regulate the water using levies and gates.
We parked our car nearby and then walked to the geocache. It was well-concealed. On this day, the blackberries were fully ripe. We ate a handful before leaving.
Next week we will be near a train station in the Cascade mountains. Many years ago, there was a tragic accident (the Wellington Disaster) where an avalanche hit a train near this train station. Several of the victims from that disaster (and the Flu Pandemic) are buried in a cemetery near the train station. We will try and leave your dog near that station.
Best wishes to you, our friends so far away!
