These travel bugs are our drivers out to win two prizes for their team owners. The first prize is to be the first to complete the Geocaching 5000. That is the first bug to log 5000 traveled miles, but that's just one race and one set of points, and remember it's the points that wins you the CUP!!! Since all team members involved are NASCAR Fans, the remaining (and most) points come from the TBs visits to actual NASCAR race sites/towns.

The most points for these teams will be earned by visiting the different NASCAR Tracks around the country. To help out, each driver is carrying with him a schedule that list all the tracks and the dates they are raced. Each driver only needs to visit each track once as he will only receive the points for each individual track only once. Placing the driver into the nearest possible cache to the track will earn him the points, however, bonus points will be awarded if a picture of the driver at the actual track is posted with the log. The driver will receive triple bonus points if the picture is able to show that the driver was at the track on an actual race day. The driver will receive ten times the bonus points if a picture of him is taken with the real life NASCAR driver that he is a model of. Again, each track only needs to be visited once, so if you found him near a track, please get him moving ASAP in a new direction as they can only earn points for this racing season through the end of the actual NASCAR Season (Nov.19th). Then a winner will be declared and a new race will begin.

If any one driver can visit all the tracks and make it back to the Start/Finish line-- The CHECKERED FLAG CACHE in Gowanda, NY. Then that driver will automatically be this years winner of the GEOCACHING CUP.

We appreciate all your help in adding this new and fun dimension to our already greatly enjoyed sport of geocaching.

Just a reminder, NASCAR gives points for 2nd, 3rd, etc... so even if one of the other drivers already has 5000 miles or has hit the tracks ahead of the driver you have, keep the other moving to get as many of these points as possible. Every point counts.
