Abe Lincoln Finally Gets a Vacation
Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. He was elected in 1860, and was the leader of the nation through the darkest days of our history – the American Civil War. In the end, although the Union was preserved and the slaves were freed, hundreds of thousands of men died. Abraham Lincoln was assassinated while attending a theater performance in Washington D.C on April 14th, 1865.
History never records if Abe ever had a decent vacation. No mouse ears, or post cards from Grand Canyon were ever found in the back of his closets. Geocaching Team Gorgon and Griffyn decided to remedy that by having this little Lincoln tag along on our trip from Illinois, Lincoln’s home state, to Scotland. Wish we had found this a few weeks ago as we could have taken him on a nice camping holiday to France. Unfortunatley, we won't be travelling that far again for a while, but will take him somewhere interesting soon.
