Current Goal

To travel home to the Maritimes on the east coast of Canada.

About This Item

The Replacement Tag

The original goal of this coin was to travel around the Maritimes, show off the (then) new Lunenburg County Cachers geocoin (though this one is slightly imperfect), visit as many caches as possible, and give 2 people a chance to win a geocoin of their own by helping it on its journey (See the details below). Now its goal is to get back home to the Maritimes.

This geocoin started its journey on July 22nd, 2006 and wants to tour around the Maritimes. Its initial goal is to travel as much as possible before arriving at the MGA AGM the end of September. In the meantime, every cacher who moves it becomes eligible to win one of two geocoins I will be giving away at the AGM. These are the rules of this geocoin giveaway contest.

1) You must move the geocoin to be in the drawing. Simply "discovering" it or grabbing it and dropping it back in an event/cache doesn't count. You must add some distance to its journey to be in the running.

2) You must drop the coin in a new cache within 5 days of picking it up. This coin wants to move around and give everyone a chance to win, so if you hold it for longer than 5 days you forfeit your entry.

3) The coin is not to leave the Maritimes before the MGA AGM.

4) People can "enter" themselves more than once by getting the coin and moving it more than once; cachers will be entered for every time they add miles to it. However, you can't just take it and move it between half a dozen caches to be entered 6 times; back to back moves count as only one. The bug has to change hands before you can be entered again. To be exact, once you move it and are entered in the draw, at least 3 other cachers have to have logged AND moved it before you can move it again and be reentered.

5) The coin should make its way to the MGA AGM in September so it can be present at the drawing.

Although it's not a rule, please do not leave the coin in a remote location that receives few visitors where it will sit for months without being moved.

There will be 2 coins given away in this contest: one will be given to the cacher who moves the coin the farthest in one leg, and the other will be given to the cacher, picked at random, from all the eligible cachers who meet the rules above.

What coins are the prizes? That's yet to be determined, but probably I will take a few from my collection and give the cacher a choice.

Do you have to be at the MGA AGM to win the coin? No. If the cacher is not present I will contact them through their profile about mailing it. But I reserve the right to pick which coin they get. :)

Happy caching!

About This Coin
This geocoin replaces the Jungle Garmin contest coin that started travelling around the Maritimes this spring, but unfortunately had only a short lifespan before getting muggled. This one picks up the mission to travel until the AGM that the other coin left undone.
