The Babel Fish features in "The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy. It is a creature that feeds on brainwaves. A by-product of this is that when you put one in your ear it simultaneously translates all incoming and outgoing language enabling everyone to understand everyone else.

Had it long enough, and got it really confused. After I taught it the "Texas drawl", my grand daughter taught it that "pre-teen Hanna Montana" lingo. This poor thing is sooo confused now.

Languages? Checking the map, I see Babel Fish should have a firm grasp on the Queen's English, some of that West Coast slang from California and Washington, and some midwest dialect now. This should be good, as I'll take it home with me and teach it TEXAN. All that precious education out the window in the hands of one miscreant. Gotta love it!
