Current Goal

Hi, Thanks for picking this little guy up.  His goal is to travel from Texas up north to West Point, specifically the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, and return to his home cache, "Shocking Work Stoppage", in Stafford, Texas, near Houston.  Plus, of course, his goal is to have fun on the journey and drift around a bit along the way.  Have fun with this travel bug and have fun with geocaching.  Thanks for your help. - Jim Edwards, Houston, Texas, Saturday, July 26, 2014.

Can't believe I found this guy in our hiking bag!! He must have hidden himself quite well, since it's a well-used bag. It's been a long time so I'm struggling to remember where exactly we picked him up. We could have met him at West Point, since we had been going there at least once a year for a while. After his Rip Van Winkle-style rest I'll be sure to send him out very soon so he can continue his adventures. So sorry for unintentionally holding onto him for this long!

I am pleased to report that this TB has reached his outbound objective. He accompanied my family and me to today's football game between the Army Black Knights and the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors at Michie Stadium, USMA, West Point (Army 28, Hawaii 21). I've included a few pictures to document the event. And now, I'll get him on the road back to Texas!

    • Tailgating before the game We were hosted today by a member of USMA class of '75, company H2, who besides having served his country with honor, cooks a mean omelet.
    • Herbert Hall On the way up to the stadium
    • Duty, honor, country Plaque on the side of Herbert Hall
    • Michie Stadium With several thousand fellow fans.
    • Delivery of the game ball Army jump team arriving in style. All four jumpers hit the emblem at mid-field.
    • Flyover Helicopter flyover before the start of the game. I have to admit that the ubiquitous "Beat Navy" signs are a little annoying, since I'm ex-Navy myself :-).

According to the map, this TB hasn't quite made it to West Point yet. I don't have any immediate plans to get over that way, but I'll see if I can move him in the right direction.
