About This Item

Momma Kitty the Bug is named after our affectionate, but feisty House Cat[seen below]. Momma would like to travel to the pacific northwest, Alaska, New England and then on to wherever her travels take her. Be sure to take lots of pictures. Thanks

The image below of the bug itself is actually of another bug that we have placed. I'm waiting for the pictures to be developed, but the MommaKitty bug is almost identical to this one. I'll swap them when I have the correct photo.

Grab It (Not from a Cache) 7/24/2004 fourseekers grabbed it   Visit Log

We grabbed this from Reader's Delight cache. This TB hasn't been logged since end of May so not sure how it got there. We'll send the Kitty on her way.

Write note 7/19/2004 Skeezer & Summergirl posted a note for it   Visit Log

After parking, we grabbed our gear and set out for the cache. Nearer to our goal, we left the trail and plunged into the brush, the mosquitoes, and an ungodly amount of refuse strewn hither and yon. First the cache, then the trash.

Summergirl made the find, of course, and we perused the treasure. We decided to take the compass/carabiner combo from team Outtahand. In return, we left $20,000 worth of funny funereal money, a keychain flashlight, a Summergirl fish charm, our signature mini-magnet, the Momma Kitty travel bug, and "On Liberty" by J. S. Mill. The required reading we left behind was slightly too large for the cache, so we had to bend Mill's spine - just a little.

After returning the cache, we turned to the trash and Skeezer realized that he had run out of garbage bags. A brief glance around provided the answer, as we found a garbage bag hanging in a nearby tree! We filled it, and went on our merry way.

We really enjoyed this cache, literally, but we wish there was a little less trash here - please help out this nice area. Thank you, S&S.

  • Momma Kitty mourns. While awaiting further instructions, Momma Kitty pays her respects to our departed feline friend.
Retrieve It from a Cache 5/27/2004 Skeezer & Summergirl retrieved it from Bristol Woods Wisconsin   Visit Log

We were here a week ago with our nephews and with a severe thunderstorm warning under way. No worries; we'll get in, cache in, and get out before the deluge begins. Within 100 feet of the prize, the sky turned very dark and ugly and the better part of common sense decreed that it was time to leave. We made the car before the torrential rains, hail, lightning, and flash-floods hit. Summergirl was right, Skeezer reluctantly so as well.

So today we have returned without the nephews, without the storm. The incessant flurry of mosquitoes couldn't stop us and we found the cache right where it should be, and was. Ah, we were so close before!

We released the Lance Armstrong TDF V2 Travel Bug one step further on its eastern journey and left $20,000 in chinese death money, a plastic guitar, a Summergirl crafted fish charm, and our new signature mini-magnet. We took with us the Momma Kitty TB and a religious doodad; in addition to the leaves and debris that were in the cache.

This was a nice cache and, yes, we will bring the nephews back out here again. Thank you, S&S.

Mama Kitty is now visiting Niagara Falls, with her tire gauge intact. She was retreived from a cache in Southeast Wisconsin by someone else, and passed on to me to fly East. When the weather permits will try and get her near the Buffalo Airport, so she can fly off again.

We will send Mama Kitty south to get around the Great Lakes, or perhaps have her fly all the way east to a friendly cacher we know there.
