The Emperor Penguin (Aptenodytes forsteri), at 1.3 metres (3 ft 9 in) tall and 32 kilograms in weight,is the tallest and heaviest of all penguins. It is the only penguin that breeds during the winter in Antarctica. Emperor Penguins eat mainly crustaceans (such as krill) but also occasionally indulge in small fish and squid. In the wild, Emperor Penguins typically live for 20 years, but some records indicate a maximum lifespan of around 40 years.

It's always nice to see some photos taken of him.

Der Kaiserpinguin ist der am südlichsten lebende Pinguin der Welt. Es gibt rund 300.000 Exemplare, die auf dem Packeis im Südpolarmeer rund um die Antarktis leben. Einzig zur Fortpflanzung verlassen sie das Packeis und wandern bis zu 200 Kilometer, um den Paarungs- und Brutplatz auf dem sicheren Festland zu erreichen.

Es ist immer nett Fotos von ihm zu sehen.

We have given him a make over The TB tag is now enclosed in the laminate cover to try and preserve it. The id number on the tag is damaged but can be identified with a little patience..Back on the road soon
