To make my way to the new USS Monitor Center at The Mariners’ Museum in Newport News, Virginia in time for the Grand Opening of the Center on the 145th anniversary of my most famous battle against the Monitor. Please get me to Virginia by March 9, 2007.
Historians called the battle a draw. You decide.

On March 8 – 9, 1862, I fought in the Battle of Hampton Roads on the James River in Virginia. My formidable opponent was the northern ironclad, the USS Monitor. I am better known as the Merrimack, even though I was converted into the Confederate ironclad, the CSS Virginia.
