Move me FAR and move me FAST! I'm in a race and I'm all about the miles!
As my mission says
As my mission says, I'm in a race. It's a race for the
most miles with three other cars. We are, what you might call, born again
bugs. Our predecessors were all stuffed animals that were released in the
Spring of 2002. They were on a race to make it from Phoenix, AZ to Camden,
SC in time for the Team GeoQuest wedding in October 2002. As you can see
from our starting "born again" miles below, some of us had more success than
others. It was Billy the Zebra that was the winner, now known as Billy the
Blue Plymouth. Billy was picked up by Jack and Melissa the day before
their wedding in Camden. His reward was tagging along on their honeymoon
to Maui. Billy was left at a beautiful cliff side cache on Maui to
continue his journeys.
Unfortunately, all of the original cast of characters are
now MIA so Team GeoQuest has decided to resurrect us all using the backup copies
of our original travel bug tags.
We're all now back in action and raring to go! Our
race is all about determining who can go the distance now that we have a 2nd
chance. Most miles before we finally leave "the grid" for good wins!
If you have found me, please move me on quickly.
Make it FAR and make it FAST!
The Racers:
If you have discovered one of our original travel bugs
(The Zebra, The Monkey, The Elephant, or The Lion) please e-mail us for
disposition at team.geoquest@gmail.com.
We would especially love to get Billy the Zebra back and would very gladly pay
for postage.
