The Tools of Mountaineers
Type: Ice Tool
Make: DMM Raptor Adze
Rating: T (EN 13089:2011)
Inspiration: F* BUSY. by Brendan
This is my ice axe which prevented me from slipping into a crevasse on the quarter deck in New Zealand, punctured random holes into sandwich bags and in general is a usefull tool when I'm on the mountains. This year it will travel with me to a special summit of the Himalays: Ama Dablam.
Yes THAT Ama Dablam. A mountain Sir Edmund Hillary once described as unclimable and which eventually was climbed ... but not until 1961 and by the time the second ascend happened in 1979, I was already born.
This is going to be fun!
