I maintain records on my trackables. For a US-based trackable, this one is unusual for its longevity and movement. In the six-year period, 2010-19, the owner released a total of 3,793 trackables in the United States (96%) and Europe (4%). This trackable is one of the 5% of the total that circulated for at least 5 years and had been moved at least 25 times. That is a target rate of at least five drops per year for five years, or a drop every 73 days. The average drop rate of my trackables in the US is 124 days, in Europe it is 71 days. As of 29-Aug-23 this trackable had survived for 8.4 years and had been moved by 39 cachers, for an average drop every 79 days. Please keep it moving, then drop it in a safe place!

No permission is needed to leave the U.S. While in the US, please drop it in a Premium Member only OR a rural cache near a busy trail or road. Do not place it in an urban cache or abandon it at a caching event where there is no security. Transport the bug in the original plastic bag for as long as the bag lasts; the bag keeps the trackable clean and dry, protects the number and prevents tangling with other items. Otherwise, take the trackable anywhere you wish.

This “Star” series of travel bugs is to bring attention to my favorite movie actors.  Some have awards, some do not.  There is no criterion to be included as a favorite beyond I will watch anything that has her/him in it.

Marisa Tomei was born in 1964, in Brooklyn, NY, to mother Patricia "Addie" Tomei, an English teacher, and father Gary Tomei, a lawyer.  As a child, Marisa's mother frequently corrected her speech so as to eliminate her heavy Brooklyn accent.  She was one year into her college education at Boston University when she dropped out for a co-starring role on the CBS daytime drama, As the World Turns (1956).  She also landed bit part in movies and TVs until her breakthrough came in 1992, when she co-starred as Joe Pesci's girlfriend in My Cousin Vinny (1992), a performance that won her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.  

She won critical acclaim in a series of box office failures, but it was guest appearences on the popular sitcom, Seinfeld (1989), that kept her in the public consciousness.  Marisa co-starred with Mel Gibson in the hugely successful romantic comedy, What Women Want (2000), and, during the 2002 movie award season, she proved her first Oscar win was no fluke when she was nominated a second time for the critically-acclaimed dark drama, In the Bedroom (2001).  She has worked steadily ever since, frequently garnerning award nominations along the way.  My personal favorite movies are My Cousin Vinny (1992), The Perez Family (1995),  Unhook the Stars (1996) and Slums of Beverly Hills (1998).  She is just soo cute!
