Current Goal

This little bug is to travel around and remind people about the air they breathing.  Travel all around the world, from the highest mountains to the lowest valleys.  Please help to move this bug to new altitudes and then discover things about the air you are breathing right now.

Breathe Easy Travel Bug

In Colorado Springs, CO we are averaged at 6033ft in altitude. At 1839m (6033feet), the barometric pressure is 82kPa (616mmHg). Nearly all of the Earth's atmosphere is made up of only five gases: nitrogen, oxygen, water vapor, argon, and carbon dioxide. Several other compounds also are present. water vapor is not listed, but air can contain as much as 5% water vapor, more commonly ranging from 1-3%. The 1-5% range places water vapor as the third most common gas (which alters the other percentages accordingly).

Do you know how much oxygen is around you where you are?  How about what else might be in the air around you?

Planting trees, taking measures to reduce smoke and pollutants in factories, and using catalytic converters and unleaded petrol in automobiles, are some ways of reducing air pollution.  

Recently in China they introduced a two week ban on automobiles to improve the air quality, see below for a difference in air quality two weeks can make.
