Student of History

 I'm releasing this travel bug in honor of my husband, Caleb, who is a major history buff. Understanding history is one of his favorite pastimes. To the point that whenever we take some sort of trip, it never fails that we end up at some sort of museum, or fort, or other random historical place. He is not much of a geocacher himself (he will go with me, but not on his own), but as we have a trip up north coming up, he thought it would be neat to send something out into the world. I'm only more than happy to oblige.

This travel bug wants to visit caches located in historical places, historical signs, or other areas with a special meaning. It has a special interest in visiting battlefields across the US and beyond.  Take lots of pictures and share some of the things that you see and learn at these places that connect the past with the present.

The mission of this travel bug is to remember the past so we are not doomed to repeat it.

This bug is awesome but it is not a collectable, so please send it on it's way!

The charms are all things that I kind of associate with gaining wisdom and knowledge, or taking a journey.  So putting it all together.  Owls are a bird often associated with wisdom, which is why there is quite a cute one attached on here.  We have named him Thaddeus.  Please leave him on the bug so that he can continue to have awesome adventures!  Please leave the bug in a ziploc when he's not doing anything super-cool, like taking photos and stuff.  Thaddeus the owl will get ruined if he gets wet and moldy.
