She is finally home !
We were in on Island home in Crete at the end of summer 2019 at an event in Rethymno. As we were one of the few English attendees we were pressed to take our Queen. How could we say no.
We returned to the U.K. at the end of October and the Queen visited the north west of England.
Sadly a death in the family meant she lay forgotten for a few months. Since then illnesses broken bones and pandemics have meant we were unable to visit our elderly relatives in Winchester And return the lady home.
Now after eight months we are due to return to Crete in three weeks. Today we came down for a few hours and a socially distanced lunch before heading off to take the Queen home.
After two days of long drives we were keen to return her as soon as possible but quickly realised there were no short cuts and a 5KM walk was in order. We did the long up hill in our town shoes and no jackets. Took some lovely photos at the cache of the “fields of gold“ nearby. We had just started the walk back to the car when the heavens opened and we were drenched to the skin. So wet we had to change clothes in the car. We laughed and will never forgot the 2700 km journey to return our Queen home. TFTC.
PS The container needs some work as it won’t close properly.
