About This Item

Amy Johnson (1 July 1903 – 5 January 1941) was the first female pilot to fly solo from Britain to Australia in  G-AAAH, a Gipsy Moth which she named 'Jason'. She left Croydon in south London, on 5 May 1930 and landed in Darwin, Northern Territory, on 24 May after flying 11,000 miles. She died during WWII while flying an Airspeed Oxford for the ATA from Prestwick via Blackpool to RAF Kidlington near Oxford. Johnson went off course in adverse weather conditions and crashed into the Thames Estuary after running out of fuel.

Unfortunately, the original TB went missing so I have released a copy. Please don't keep it, drop it in a cache so it can keep travelling.
