Barkley

Barkley is my Caching Buddy and stays with me! This "Wookiee the Puppy Travel Tag" was a gift to Barkley from Kirsten2usa. This tag will be used to track his Caching activities

      Barkley, was born on October 31 2012. Mrs Brierpatch wanted a puppy to cuddle with, so in the first week of November she went to an Amish puppy Farm in search of a pekenese puppy as she walked by a pen there was Barkley, looking up at her from his square pen while his litter mates were all cuddled together, she picked him up and it was a done deal! She decided Barkley would be her new puppy, she negotiated with the Amish breeder for visiting rights. Four times a week through November & December she would go to the farm and play with Barkley for and hour or more.

      Barkley Came home on December 26th, as our little Christmas puppy. Little is a relative word as he is twice the size of his litter mates and 1-1/2 size bigger than both his mom & pop. Barkley is a Shorkey which is a Shitzo & Yorky mix. By mid January of 2013 Barkley had his first Nickname of "Floor boy" He just wasn't into the cuddling, and preferred to lay on the floor! 

   It is important to note that I was not in favor of a new puppy, But I followed the addage "Love your wife, Lover her dog" So I would be sure at four in the mourning he would have his walk and bathroom time outside. In February Barkley began following me everywhere I went, from room to room through out the house, Which is hard to understand since Mrs patch spends so much time with him training him loving him giving him baths etc... It was in march while watching TV with the Mrs., that barkley would come up on the couch and lay his head on my thigh, Henceforth referred to by my wife as cuddling!

     I did not choose Barkley, he chose me, and as a result we spend alot of time together. Barkleys hobbies are Hiking. biking, kayaking, swimming, sliding down slides at every park that has one, he loves to play fetch & catch, and he loves to play with little children, he retrieved ducks, when I shoot them, He finds sheds in the early sping when we go out scouting deer, and last of all he does a little caching. Barkley is also the team mascot of the football team I coach.
