About This Item

Hi, I need to get home to England. More than that; I need to get to Buckinghamshire. Even more than that I need to get near to Buckingham. On top of all that I would love to get to http://coord.info/GC5G1B9 (JS15 - Jack Shrimpton Circular Walk)

Scrap that, this journey is taking so long that I have to now get to Scotland, more than that - I have to get near Biggar. Even better than that would be to get to Leadhills and be dropped in Pen and Ink ( https://coord.info/GC5YQ67 )

Dropped Off 2/18/2024 Wombatwandering placed it in Welcome to the Chilterns! TB Hotel. Southern England, United Kingdom - 33.21 miles  Visit Log

Goodbye GET ME HOME!!!!!, I missed the ride to Scotland for you so this is as good as I can do. I drove you to Buckinghamshire for a CITO this morning but it was cancelled while I was half way there. I diverted to Coombe Hill, a hill in The Chilterns, home of England’s oldest geocache. I’ve already found that so I concentrated on some newer ones. Got drenched by a rain storm while next to the monument. Good luck! 🌧️

I was tasked with occupying my friend today. His wife is working London and he is bored. She thought he might like to try geocaching. I knew that he would not - he hates to be dirty and loves his clothes. To be fair, he gave it a good shot while we walked around the ‘wilds’ of Battersea Park, London. Then we had a late lunch at Battersea Power Station. 🥗

Visited 2/14/2024 Wombatwandering took it to War Memorial #1989 ~ HMS Belfast London, United Kingdom - 10.81 miles  Visit Log

Happy Valentine’s Day. This is a new virtual in London so off we went to visit HMS Belfast. It is a Town-class light cruiser that was built for the Royal Navy and is now permanently moored as a museum ship on the River Thames in London and is operated by the Imperial War Museum. The ship served between 1938 and 1963 and had a speed of 59 km/h. 💝

Visited 2/13/2024 Wombatwandering took it to Church Micro 9438...Barnehurst – Methodist London, United Kingdom - 13.51 miles  Visit Log

I was tricked not taking you on a trip to Barnehurst, south London, today. “It’s a first to find”, they said. “It’s a challenge cache”, they said. “It’s a high D/T”, they said. “Bring your tree pole”, they said. Didn’t mention that I don’t qualify. So that’s my good deed for the day. 😇

Visited 2/12/2024 Wombatwandering took it to TRAM SideTracked - Therapia Lane London, United Kingdom - 13.69 miles  Visit Log

A sad day for the geocaching community in greater London today. I took you to Croydon, south London, for the funeral of Sludge bucket. He was an early adopter of Geocaching and I always found his coordinates were spot on. Thanks Sludge bucket and we’ll all miss you at events. 😢

Visited 2/11/2024 Wombatwandering took it to VS#1662 Charlton Village South East England, United Kingdom - 13.43 miles  Visit Log

We wandered out to a village called Charlton in Surrey, west of London. It’s dominated by the bank of the Queen Mary Reservoir, one of the largest of London's reservoirs supplying fresh water to London and parts of surrounding counties. I don’t think much happens here but the caches were excellent. 🚿

Visited 2/10/2024 Wombatwandering took it to PiKo meets Harry Potter London, United Kingdom - 12.56 miles  Visit Log

An early morning event in Hyde Park was the order of the day today. The drizzle held off until after it had finished. Hyde Park was established by Henry VIII in 1536 when he took the land from Westminster Abbey and used it as a hunting ground. It opened to the public in 1637. 🦌

Visited 2/9/2024 Wombatwandering took it to VS#566 Chislehurst London, United Kingdom - 11.33 miles  Visit Log

Continuing my push for Wherigos, I headed to Chislehurst in far south east London. I was in Chislehurst once when both my husband and son called to say that work and school had been cancelled due to the start of Covid. Chislehurst is a lovely place and full of history. It was home to the Walsingham family (Francis was Elizabeth I’s spymaster), the exiled French Emperor, Napoleon III, Thomas Townshend, 1st Viscount Sydney, after whole Sydney, Australia was named, and also the singer Siouxsie Sioux. 🫅

Visited 2/7/2024 Wombatwandering took it to Tentmantent on Tour #34: London London, United Kingdom - 94.96 miles  Visit Log

Tentmantent was passing through London from Lincoln so I took you to see him at an event in a pub. I’ve heard that this pub was the first gastro pub in London. It’s lucky to still be standing after a cacher accidentally set fire to the menu. 🔥
