Owen was very excited, and a little intimidated, to visit the zoo, also known as the home of Gerbie-Force. Owen met Jordie, the Red Bellied Parrot, who greeted Owen with his traditional, "Hi Jordie". Owen then went to the apartment upstairs (the cage above Jordie's) and met Jordie's upstairs neighbors, Ray-Ray and Biker, a set of fun loving cockatiels. Ray-Ray and Biker did not like sharing their cage with Owen, so we snapped a quick photo and headed to the dog beds located directly below Jordie's place. Owen was lucky to meet a resting Nikki, who was laying on her bed with her newest, and most favorite toy. As you can see in the picture, Owen was allowed to not only share Nikki's pillow, but also get close enough to smell or mark Nikki's new toy. Owen then curled-up next to Jake, who sniffed and then looked around the house for something food-like that a human may have dropped. Owen's key chain was not edible...so it didn't interest Jake. Oh well...Jake's loss. Owen then met Tea-cup and Rooster, the real masters of this zoo. Tea-cup actually held Owen's picture for a second and then promptly jumped down to claw at the side of the couch...as if to say, "nice picture...but this is my house!" Rooster just sat regally...unphased by the commotion. We then took Owen upstairs to meet the big birds. Owen looked really small when Spot and Cleopatra grabbed him, shook him violently, then played tug-of-war with us. Bottom-line, we think Owen may need a little rest now and we will get him back out this weekend. We've attached some snap-shots!
