ADRA Baby Owl Geocoin - 10

Dette er en ugle som sammen med 12 andre ugler ønsker å reise så langt som mulig. Vi er 2 familier som konkurrerer internt om hvor langt disse kan reise, samt komme innom flest mulig land. Uglene vil bli auksjonert bort og pengene som vi samler inn vil bli gitt til ADRA (The Adventist Development and Relief Agency – som er en hjelpeorganisasjon) når reisen er avsluttet. Auksjonen vil foregå på Vatneli skole. Vatneli skole er en privatskole med ca. 60 elever som har hjelpearbeid på sin timeplan. De går og samler inn penger 3 ettermiddager i året og i 2016 samlet de inn 130.000 norske kroner (14.500 Euro). De har også en egen kveld hvor de har aktiviteter og selger mat – der pleier de å samle inn mellom 30.000-40.000 norske kroner (3350-4450 Euro). De siste årene har dette gått med til ADRA prosjektet «Keep Girls Safe» i Nord-Thailand. Prosjektet går ut på å forebygge moderne slaveri og menneskehandel i Nord-Thailand. ADRAs beskyttelseshjem gir jenter omsorg, kjærlighet og utdanning.

This is an owl which, together with 12 other owls, would like to travel as far as possible. We are two families who are competing with each other about how far these owls can travel, and how many countries they can enter. When the travel is over, the owls will be auctioned off, and the money will be donated to ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency - a humanitarian organization). The auction will take place at the Vatneli school in Sandnes, Norway. Vatneli school is a private primary school with about 60 pupils, with humanitarian work as part of its curriculum. One of their activities is that three afternoons every year the pupils go door-to-door to collect donations to ADRA's projects. In 2016 they collected 130,000 Norwegian kroner (€ 14,500). They also have an evening every year, with activities and sale of food, where they normally raise 30-40,000 NOK (€ 3,350-4,450). The past few years these money have been spent on the ADRA project "Keep Girls Safe" in Northern Thailand. The purpose of the project is to prevent modern-day slavery and human trafficking in Northern Thailand. ADRA's protection homes give girls care, love and education.
