I was not a scout as a youngster, but I'm living proof that there are few non-scouts who have not been affected in positive ways by scouting. As an adult, I find that a majority of the most dependable, honest, upstanding, memorable and enduring people in my life are, or were, involved in scouting. I've become involved with scouting through my friendships with those people. I worked on a special 125th-anniversary committee for the local Girl Scout Council; helped set up a Cub Scout Day Camp Archery Range; and held a navigation class for a group of Venture Scouts, to list a few. I've also met some very fine geocachers who were also Scouts or leaders. (And now that I've thought about it, I WAS a Scout early on ... in High School, I was in an Explorer Post and a member of a Volunteer Fire Department!) I'm pleased as punch to have this TB and to pass it on to someone else who's been touched by scouting.
Happy Trails!
