A to Z of the world

This Travel Bug wants to travel the world. It wants to visit a country for every letter of the alphabet. Please help it to see new and interesting countries.

When you log please include a new country names to include in the list and we will maintain it on this page.

Names can include those in the native language of the finder (e.g. Angleterre or Inghilterra for England) as well as any historical country names (e.g. Persia) but in all cases must be applicable to the current location of the bug. A liberal view will be taken towards what entails a “country” so combining with romanisation of other languages means we can even get an “X” with Tibet, Hong Kong or Singapore!

Feel free to include explanations about the country you record – for example how many people outside the UK understand the UK vs GB vs Scotland/Wales/NI/England distinction? Worryingly few inside the UK to be honest!

***UPDATE - I seem to have done a bad job of explaining how this works, so inspired by all the great travelling you have helped the bug do, I will update countries where people don't propose one. ***
