    This was a C-C-C-COLD day for an earthcache adventure, but seeing that this was our closest one to get in order to claim the earthcache souvenir for today, we made a run for it! The wind was whipping like crazy, but at least we dodged the few sprinkles. My ears were numb by the time we made it back to the car but it sure was a beautiful view with the giant waves on Lake Michigan!

    Visited the Grand Rapids Gypsum mines Earthcache. This has been on my list to visit for awhile and I was finally in the area and decided to take a side trip to check it out. Loved the history in the description describing what the gypsum mines used to be.

    This is one of our favorite state parks and one of the Michigan Geotour park tour caches! Great place for an Earthcache!! Since we live in Grand Haven we frequently visit the beach and pier often to enjoy sunsets and summer days! It was my daughter’s birthday today so a perfect day for a quick visit tonight to answer the questions before heading to dinner. We were not aware of longshore drift and enjoyed learning about the geologic processes behind it.
