Found at Geocaching HQ, the Expedition 38 Travel Bug Hitchhiker was flown for Geocaching Headquarters to the International Space Station in November of 2013 aboard a Soyuz TMA-11M spacecraft. US astronaut Rick Mastracchio carried this and 25 other hitchhikers to the ISS to teach students back on Earth about geography and science. The hitchhikers, and the Travel Bug they were attached to, flew in space for 188 days, orbiting the Earth 3,008 times. This hitchhiker traveled more than 79,800,000 miles before returning to Earth on May 13, 2014!

Bladeslime and I finally made it to GCHQ, even though we were a bit later than planned, we still got a chance to check everything in HQ out with the help of our guide (whom I will shamefully admit I have forgotten their name as I am logging the all trackables we saw at HQ several months late). We learned more about the history of trackables, bought some HQ trackables, solved a few puzzles, dropped off a trackable that I picked up Hawaii and took pics in the booth to add to the log and to keep as a souvenir. I’m happy to have made it to the home of my favourite hobby! Thanks so much for sharing!
