About This Item

Back in 2016, the North Eastern UK cachers hosted an event called Travellers at The Bridge where we were joined by two Canadian geocachers, dora_mor and Nankekaro. They were both great fun and this event represented how geocaching can create friends around the globe.

At the event dora_mor handed me this lovely Geocoin which I am sending on a mission to head back to her part of the world.

Please help it on its way

Well, this little coin has had QUITE the journey! 84039.9km, to be precise. When it was released into the wild to come back to BC I was skeptical. "Ah well," I thought, "I've seen a few trackables achieve their goals over the years. Maybe there's hope..."

I've had it on my watch list since you told me it was on the way. When I saw it was with an Albertan and he was planning to come to BC for Canada's very first Giga Event, I knew there was hope! GeoWoodstock18 has only been postponed once and the venue changed three times over the past two and a half years due to the pandemic. What could possibly go wrong?

I contacted scavengermonkeys and said I'd be volunteering at GeoWoodstock, and suggested a spot he could leave the coin if he couldn't find me. I was signing the GW logbook when I heard my name being called, and an excited friend came running up to me. "I was working in the registration line when I heard someone calling out 'Does anyone know dora_mor?'" She grabbed the coin and managed to find me in the crowd. And now the coin has achieved its goal in the most amazing way I could imagine.

Welcome home, little coin. I just have one question. What's next??

I was given your trackable at my event today so I could move it along. Thanks for sharing!
I'm from Alberta so I will bring it back with me. I could take it to the Giga in Abbotsford in August if you want.

Goodbye Celebrating 10 Years British Columbia Geocaching Association 2004-14, it’s time to let you go. I dragged myself to this early morning event in Greenwich because there was a chance of getting you a seat on a plane going nearer to your goal. It’s a stunning day in London and the views from the Royal Observatory were great. Always fun to be at 000 00.000. Good luck! 🍁

Thank you for releasing this into the wild for me to discover. I’m not reliable enough to move it on, but enjoyed witnessing this sliver of its journey.

After some delicious birthday cakes from the German Bakery, a few of us headed to Putney for a very quick find of a relatively new cache. Zouavesauvage had previously failed on the FTF here so was very annoyed. Some you win, some you don’t. 🎂

Took you on a stroll across still-broken Hammersmith Bridge to grab a FTF. Ran into my friend on the way home so that was a double win. 🏅

Headed into London to see the Yayoi Kusama exhibition at the Tate Modern. So many tourists in London today. Hard to get across Tower Bridge. 🪞

Stuck at home at the moment so had a lovely wander along the Thames and onto Brentford. Bit chilly today. 🐝

The tide was on my side and finally ticked off this nasty green spot on my map. Managed not to drop you in the mud and slime or let you get washed away by the Thames. Probably not a good idea to wear my work clothes to GZ though…. 🛀🏽
