At the end of February my cache in Heacham, Norfolk was stolen. The log book, toys and 4 trackables were taken with the box itself. Shortly before the cache was discovered missing it had been logged by a couple of newbies. I assumed that maybe they didn’t understand how geocaching worked so sent them a very polite PM and email asking if they had taken the cache to return it or to at least put the trackables back in some other cache. Shortly after I was informed by Groundspeak that both accounts had been ‘de-registered’ and both cachers were now uncontactable.
I have left it for a couple of months in the hope that they might turn up but that has not been the case. In addition another trackable ‘Trighunter’ has also been removed without being logged. Regrettably I am marking all 5 as lost. Any trackable left in this cache at the moment I am removing and either personally handing over if I see someone at the cache or placing them elsewhere.
