This bug is part of the Oz Bug Race - 2004 (OBR-4).
Australia's first official travelbug race.
The rules are:
1. The bug must be logged into at least 1 UK cache after the initial release cache.
2. The bug must be placed in at least 5 caches by 5 different geocachers and at least 1 country other than the United Kingdom and Australia.
3. The geocacher that grabs the bug must also be the one that puts it in the next cache.
4. The bug may not be posted directly back to Australia.
The first bug back in Australia and logged into a cache will score a *win* but the bug that arrives back and logged into the Oz Bug Race - 2004 cache in South Australia will win the race!
In approximately 1977 Land-Rover was experimenting with different configurations of vehicle. They were based on a Range Rover chassis, some of them were intended for the military markets. A number of these vehicles were 100 inch wheel base. The project over time went through multiple experimental versions. Some of which ended up in the 110 development program.
Then in 1990 The Defender name was introduced, to rename what had been the D90 & D110 range, to cash in on the military connection.
Fast forward to 2002 and Lara entered my life! She replaced my trusty Monster Discovery as my off-road escape vehicle.
This bug is actually a Painted Series III but has been painted using genuine Bonatti Grey.... Although the body has remained relatively unchanged in all those years!
Her mission will be to travel far and wide, just like her larger cousin who unfortunately spends too much time on-road not off.

Found this in the Iron age Cache in Devon, not the given location. Never mind, I'll find a new home for it soon.

Dropped off Tomb Racer today. This is quite a popular cache so hopefully someone will be able to help it on it's way soon. Good luck Tomb Racer!

Picked up Tomb Racer today. It reminds me of the Land Rover Safari that my father had when I was a child. We had such great fun in it and coincidentally we used to drive up and down at Farley Mount Country Park,(not allowed to drive on the downs anymore though).
Hope this one is the winner!
Will move it on shortly.

The participants arrived here in the UK today and are under starters orders. They'll soon be 'off'.
Keep your eyes on GCJ6BD which will be the start of the race (this will become 'live' very soon).
