In honor of President Kennedy and the powerful influence of his few years in office, we would like this Travel Bug to visit anything with the name Kennedy in it, such as schools, parks, streets, museums, banks or other buildings, all around the world. Please post a picture with him there. If you cannot find such a site, feel free to move Camelot on to another cache, where someone else may take up the task.
When I was young, my mother would tell us about John F Kennedy and about how important and admired he was, not only to Americans, but to Canadians and others around the world. For years we heard about President Kennedy’s life and tragic ending and the subject has always fascinated me.
The Kennedy White House and his legacy, have come to be known as Camelot, in reference to the President’s favourite Broadway musical and his life-long fascination with the stories of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. After his death, Jackie Kennedy cemented the reference in history, by remarking that, "There’ll be great presidents again… but there’ll never be another Camelot."
