This is 1 of 4 Titanic 100th Anniversary trackables that was released at the 2016 GCCO Trackable Race Kickoff / Pi Day! Event (GC6AB8P) in Colorado Springs on March 14, 2016. This one is owned by Lars, who is one of the 3 Williams Kidz. Each of the 4 is named to honor members of the Titanic staff that are not as famous as the Captain, bridge officers, architect, etc. This one honors the cooks and chefs who worked behind the scenes to ensure the over 2200 people onboard were well fed. Please help this trackable in the race by moving it as far as possible before the race ends on or about March 14, 2017. After that, it would like to travel to any cache, anywhere. RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean in the early morning of 15 April 1912 after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton, UK to New York City, US. The sinking of Titanic caused the deaths of more than 1,500 people in one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in modern history. The RMS Titanic, the largest ship afloat at the time it entered service, was the second of three Olympic class ocean liners operated by the White Star Line, and was built by the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast with Thomas Andrews as her naval architect. On her maiden voyage, she carried 2,224 passengers and crew.
