Current Goal

The Birkie Bug is a cross country skier! She wants to travel around the world skiing in XC ski races, or just go for a recreational ski with you. The Birkie Bug started off skiing the North American Birkebeiner in Hayward, Wisconsin and is ready for more. She ultimately wants to travel to Norway and ski the Norwegian Birkebeiner. In the non-snowy months she would be perfectly happy to bike, hike, or take part in your favorite sport. Please take and post a picture of your sporting activity with the Birke Bug.

Though she's hard to see, the Birke Bug is clinging tenaciously to the owner's race number in the picture at right, still fresh after 52 kilometers! Think Snow!

The snow has melted (😁 for me, 😟 for Birkie), but Birkie is still ready to go skiing. This cache is currently the closest one (~5 miles) to the Swiss Valley Ski Area, which is primarily a downhill ski area, but still apropos. Harwood Lake is used for water skiing, but probably not at this time of year!

It's snowing, and Birkie Bug is excited! She is hoping that the snow will stick so she can go skiing soon. In the meantime, she is having a good time in the lodge with her new friend Mr. Bearski.
