Current Goal

Now that this bug is largely reptilian, he would like to visit some of the great deserts of the world. He is starting in the Colorado plateau (which is not exactly a desert) of southern Utah. Lets see if he can get to the Sahara of Africa or the Gobi of Asia. Maybe even the frozen wasteland of Antarctica! Let’s try to avoid losing any more body parts as well. Cache on!

About This Item

home sweet home

I couldn't decide if this was a frog or a lizard. Its front half looks like a Poison Arrow Frog except it has a tail. It could be a lizard but it has webbed feet. I don't know if it's a very young frog or an aquatic lizard. I guess we'll just have to take a vote.

Note: 4-15-2006
After some trouble in New England this poor thing lost his head. Being unable to replace this important appendage he has become a wanderer of the desert looking for a genie lamp and the new head which it may contain. Amazing what 10000 miles of traveling can do to a bug.

After some polishing to remove the old glue and finding that they don't make key chains like this any more, I determined that there weren't any good options for a replacement head. So I cleaned him up a bit and dropped him off in the Utah desert. He has lost many of his Amphibious features it seems so he should be quite happy there. Thanks again for all the help re-establishing him.

I have recovered the headless traveler. He came to me after a six hour flightand some amazing help from many New England geocachers. Thanks to all the help in sending him back to Utah. Now I just have to figure out how to stick some kind of head back onto him. Maybe a name change will be in order, something along the lines of reptile roadkill or some such.
He will return.
