Seems that someone has stolen this cache and phat.bak was one of the casualties.

Totally friggin' awesome!
Many thanx to Slayerette for releasing phat.bak (the TB) in my honor. I have been to the finish of the IDIT in Nome a couple of times and really had a blast. I watched Robert Sorlie (a Swede) finally get the victory and I also watched as Buser won and took his oath of US citizenship under the arches teh next day. Very touching.
Many thanx to recray for bringing this little porker to the Last Great Race. Hey, recray! - did ya notice the red token attached to him? It is for a FREE drink at the Polaris Hotel in Nome that I got on my last visit there in 2003. It would be an honor if you 'cashed it in' and got a freebie on me (and Slay).

  • On the way to Safety My brother, sister and I took snow machines to Safety from Nome across the Bering Sea. Awesome, following the Idit trail.
  • The REAL phat.bak at the end of the world.
  • a local establishment
  • inside - where it is WARM!

Phew! I am so glad this little piggy is going to make his goal! If only he knew how close he was to leaving Alaska--only ~18 hours until the plane headed south. Just think, he'll go where no pig has gone before...and if the weather continues like during my visit, there will be no problem freezing a few things off!

Keep dreamin' big!

Retrieve It from a Cache 1/28/2006 powmia retrieved it from Folker Park Alaska   Visit Log

Retrieved from Folker Park Jan 28, 2006. phat.bak is going to the Iditarod in AK. I will pass the TB to fellow cacher "recray" who is a ham radio operator, and volunteers yearly to assist mushers and their teams along the Iditarod Trail Race. phat.bak will be going to Rainy Pass and Safety, and possibly to the finish line in Nome Alaska. There will be many photo opportunities. Since the Last Great Race on Earth does not start until March, phat will be resting with recray until then. Do not be concerned that your TB is lost or has been forgotten, recray will be holding it. Your wish will soon become a reality and possibly be pictured with the actual teams.

Heading north so taking this guy with me. We'll be taking the air route instead of the sea route, but it ends in the same place!

Placed this pig into the cache closest to the Alaska State Ferry terminal as possible. Hopefully, a north bound passenger can pick it up. Cheers!
