Goodbye Cache in —> Trash Out, it’s time to let you go on new adventures. Baby Potato had to do some Little Athletics in Woden so I went along to watch the sprints and then fitted in some Geocaching to avoid the throwing events. Good luck. 🥔

You just managed to finish the challenge caches before the rain and wind started. By the time I got into Civic (Canberra city centre), it was blowing a gale and pouring. That’s the end of caching for the day. Good decision as a big thunderstorm happened as well. ⛈

I wanted to finish some challenge caches out the back of Black Mountain, a peak that overlooks Canberra. Great views but looking a bit stormy in the distance. There’s been a bit a small bush fire go through here recently. 🔥

Now you are in Canberra, Australia’s capital city. More specifically, you’re in Narrabundah which is where I used to live when I worked in Canberra years ago and where my very good friend still lives. The map says you’ve travelled just less than 500km to get here but in reality, Canberra is a seven hour drive from Melbourne because you have to go around the mountains. It’s good to be back after several years. 👭

Airport time. No need for your passport today though. I forgot to take my pocketknife out of my Geocaching kit. Luckily geocachers know how to hide things. I just have to remember to find and collect it when I return. 🛫

Took you on a stroll around Altona Nature Reserve which used to be a horse racing track but is now a RAMSAR wetland for migrating birds. Lovely early morning views across to Melbourne. Time to head north. 🦜

I wanted to do another section of challenge caches but time was running out so you’ve taken the train to Newport with me and walked to pretty Newport Lakes. Never been here before either. Saw a beautiful blue tongue lizard. 🦎
