Current Goal

Duck Soup is in a race with 23 other ducks. Who will travel the most miles in one year? Who will have the most fun adventures? It's easy to amuse this duck and she's amusing too. Her sense of humor will have you quacking till tears run down your feathers. She also loves toys that talk and would enjoy visiting toy stores on her journey.

About This Item

Duck Soup

"Flotilla of drifting rubber duckies at sea since 1992” That headline was the inspiration for the GKG Duck race. For Christmas 2003 the Gerads-Kieffer-Gustafson families were given TB Ducks, each duck reflects the unique personality of the family member. The goal is to travel the globe like the 29,000 rubber bath toys that went overboard in 1992 and have been followed by the media since. Now we can have fun watching where our ducks travel and see what high-sea adventures they have. To learn more about the ducks that inspired this race, visit (visit link) Look at the family photo to see the other ducks in the race.

Duck Soup misses her family, every now and then. But a little sightseeing keeps the mind occupied.

The mind of a duck... No CN tower of Casa Lloma for this one.

  • Watching the relatives
  • Out for a 'swim'
  • Roaming around the toyshops
  • City-sized duck
  • Choosing her favorite game

Duck Soup was complaining that it could HEAR the stream in the distance but could not SEE it.
So we took it home and it's building up a friendship with devilduckie now.
And it's learning French. Might be handy for future travels.

  • A chat with Devilduckie. What's that shadow?
  • Aaargh...a CAT

This orange duck looked right at home here in Big Orange Country in TN. However he said he'd like to swim in the Missippi River. Hope to be able to take him to New Orleans in a few weeks to give him the chance.

Through the rain, fog, and even hurricane Jeanne we were determined to go on a cache run. The rain soaked us, the fog made visibility impossible, and Jeanne beat down on us with all her might, but on we searched letting nothing get in our way. Finally with perseverance we found this TB.

While visiting Asheville, "DS" saw lots and lots of water from Frances and Ivan -- she wanted to swim, but we packed her up and sent her to a hotel to further her travels.

  • Duck Soup wanted to swim, but alas, too much water
