The goal of "A Beautiful Picture" is to collect and share 27 beautiful photographs. Then the bug will venture out with a new camera.
"A Beautiful Picture" is attached to a FujiColor Quicksnap one use camera. If you have the bug, your job is to photograph the next most beautiful thing, person, vista, whatever, that you find. Then drop it in a different cache. YOU ONLY GET TO TAKE ONE PICTURE! THEN PASS IT ON TO THE NEXT PERSON BY DROPPING IT IN A DIFFERENT CACHE. THIS MAXIMIZES ITS TRAVELS!
The person that takes the last photo should place the camera, bug, and everything in the addressed, stamped envelope. I will have the photos developed and placed in a web page at: http://www.stevegandy.com/photography/abeautifulpicture/index.html
I will email all the photographers when the site is up.
Some photo tips:
-Hold the camera still
-Keep the sun over your shoulder
-Try placing your subject off center
-Stay at least 4 feet from your subject or the focus will not be sharp
-One use cameras don't usually capture sunsets and sunrises very well but the best light for photography is shortly after sunrise and shortly before sunset
-This camera will produce the best photos when used outdoors and is waterproof to a depth of 35ft.
All photographs become property of Steve Gandy Photography.

The Lost Boys went geocaching by themselves and the oldest Lost Boy let the younger ones play with the geocaching backpack. Sorry to say that they found the camera and finished off the roll of pictures--only two were left. Not sure if their pictures are very beautiful. Anyway, the camera is on its way home. Sorry that it ended its trip this way.

Very cool travel bug. Had a few technical difficulties with the camera, but I hope that you find a picture of the Lost Boys next to the beautiful spring where we found the cache, outside of Ashland, OR. Only a few pictures left--we'll take it with us on our camping trip next weekend and leave it in a beautiful spot.

What a great idea. We are taking this TB to the tallest trees in the world, the Gaint coastal Redwoods in Humboldt County in California.
