This virtual Travel Bug moves like a benevolent minister, priest, rabbi, (shaman, spiritual advisor, fill in your own) etc. to stand with you as you bestow respect and rememberance towards the memory of great, lost caches that are now archived. St. Fanurius of Geo seeks only those caches which were truly great, deserved to be honored and are now sorely missed.
Do you mourn for the loss a particular archived cache which was quite special in it's location and/or design? Do you wish others could now experience the joy that you remembered when you were there? Our Saint offers comfort and gentleness for your geocacher heart.
All you need to do is invite our Saint along with you to the page of any archived geocache that is truly worthy of such a rememberance. Just Post A Note on the archived cache's page to drop off this bug and mention the Saint's role in visiting.
Then make sure you post a nicely detailed paragraph here describing your thoughts and your memories of the cache. Let us know why it was so special and why it is so missed nowadays. Just posting this TB in some cache with no note makes the Saint very sad, because he REALLY needs your written memories of the past cache in order to give a proper rememberance. Thanks for your detailed description of what made the cache worth a Saintly visit.
(IMPORTANT: As of April 20,2005, a detailed paragraph on this page is now a required rule. If this rule is not followed, a single polite reminder note will be sent by the owner to the cacher who didn't take the rule into consideration. A reminder note will also be posted by the TB owner on this page. If the log is not properly re-done within 7 days, that log will be deleted by the TB owner. Thank you for treating the Saint with proper respect.)
You never know... after the Saint is invited to be with you for a ceremony of respect and rememberance to a particular bygone cache, we may just witness this TB's rumored saintly powers of ressurrection! When that happens, we can claim an Official St. Fanurius of Geo Miracle. "Lo! For a great archived cache with no hope comes to life again! Hallelujah!!"
His name, St. Fanurius of Geo, is inspired by the name of the patron saint of lost things. Check out the history of the original saint name.
St. Fanurius of Geo's TB number is 454473. Please respect our Saint's sacred mission and guide his visits only towards those caches which are both bygone and greatly missed.
There is no longer a time limit for how long a worthy cache has been archived to make it eligible for a Saintly rememberance. Also, more than one person may join in memorials of the same cache (by 'grabbing' the bug and putting it back there with their own written eulogy-log on the cache page) IF the past cache is truly so worth such a salute. :)

We brought St Fanurius of Geo's Travel Bug to help us mourn for the loss of this cache. We had tried to find it last year and now we see it is lost.

I was the last finder of this cache and soon after the owners left town and archieved it. If I knew about adopting caches way back then I would of adopted this one. It was one of the neatest hiding spaces I've ever seen. Maybe a blessing by Saint Fanurius of Geo will help inspire a similar cache nearby.

Picking up the bug from Treed Bears. I was supposed to go with Ce'Nedra, Olf and Ima that day...but I had a work committment. From all that I have heard about that cache...I truly missed out. Moving the bug to one of my bygone favorites soon.

Treed Bears has definetly been the most beautiful hike and scenic forest I had ever gone caching in. I wish it was still available for others to experience.
It was also my first cache with Olf D' Coors & Ima Lost, who are both great fun.
So long Treed Bears, I can at least be happy I know where this forest is located, so I can come back sometime.

The Hook Challenge was definetly a monumental cache in Central PA, and absolutely one of the most difficult cache retrievals I've ever encountered, but it taught me alot.
I found that cache with Enfanta right after completing the 1000 Steps cache...I don't know what we were thinking in doing both of these beasts in one day, but it was very memorable and worthwhile.
I went back with MissJenn and some other cachers for its final retrieval, its a shame that it had to be removed, its probably in one of the most scenic and beautiful forests in PA.

This cache in central Pennsylvania was loved by many. I was Last Finder on 9/21/2003, along with an excellent group of cachers that accompanied me that day.
It's great to have a few more people read about The Hook Challenge thru the travels of St. Fanurius.
