Excalibur je legendární meč krále Artuše. Byl obdařen magickými vlastnostmi. Pověst praví, že meč Excalibur dostal Artuš od Paní Jezera, která nad hladinu vynoří ruku držící meč. Král Artuš měl meč u sebe až do své poslední bitvy. Obdobným způsobem, jako byl převzat, meč i vrátí, když se po jeho odhození do jezera vynoří ruka, která jej zachytí. Podle jiných zdrojů byl ukován jako dar pro Julia Caesara a byl symbolem královské moci na britských ostrovech. Existence tohoto meče je však velice sporná. Informace jsou jen příběhy nebo legendy, nikoli vědecky či historicky podložená fakta. Legenda je často spojována i s kouzelníkem Merlinem.
