A while back we noticed that IKE had gone missing from Stony Creek Cache. We have emailed the owner for a copy of IKE's dog tag number and a replacement photo. With the owners permission we are attempting to get IKE back up and flying free. We will try to release IKE back into the wild by dropping him off in a cache down in Florida or Georgia over the next couple of months. Please help give this gorgeous raptor wings to fly and help keep the memory and spirit of IKE alive....

IKE... may you once again FLY HIGH, WILD and FREE!!!

your geo-friends, Highcountryhikers

IKE is an Imprinted Kestral - that is, he spent enough of his early life being cared for by humans that he was unable to live in the wild. IKE was cared for at the Shaver's Creek Environmental Center, where the journey for the travel bug began. He died about 5 years ago. You can learn more about the Shaver's Creek Environmental Center at http://app.outreach.psu.edu/ShaversCreek/

"And He will raise you up on eagles' wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of His hand..."
