The Key Of The Obelix

Travel the world and maybe even out of this world...  Hoping to see a lot of photographs along the way!

A grey coloured Opel Vectra was our loyal and beloved family car for many years. We called him “Obelix” and he took us to many places over the years. Mostly here in Finland because that’s where Obelix lived his whole life. We laughed when he let black smoke out from the motor or stopped in the middle of the highway, but he always just kept going! He was old and tired, but always did his best for a chance to go for a road. He had a very unique personality 

One morning he just couldn’t do it anymore. On a way to work, he let out his last smokes from the motor. And that was it. No more Obelix. We had to let him go. On a day just before he turned into a metal cube at the local wreck yard, he had a last wish. He hoped to travel everywhere when he goes to heaven. He told us, that now he gets to see the space too! He loved space and science just like us. He was also a huge icehockey fan, always willing to take us to see the games. Never got a chance to see the big arenas though… He loved historical places and was a bit geeky too, Star Wars and all kind of nerdy stuff got his heart beat a little faster.

One day we found a spare key to our good old Obelix… We realised Obelix would have wanted his key to travel around the world! Secluded, arctic and exotic places, big cities or just anywhere possible! Maybe eventually they could meet again in space, Obelix will always be there waiting for his key. They could meet once more at the International Space Station, and after that The Key Of The Obelix will continue his journey on it’s own, exploring the wonders of the Earth... Someday, in a distant future he will come back home to Finland. But not for a long time. It's time to do some extreme travelling far away from home!

We will sent The Key Of The Obelix on it’s way from Lofoten, Norway. It was one of the places he always dreamed of going. Together we can make Obelix’s dreams to come true and let his key discover amazing places! Give his key a chance that Obelix never got… We hope to see a lot of photos along the way!
