I Run 4 Joey... and now I geocache for him too! This travel bugs mission is to travel to southern Florida, visiting as many caches as possible along its journey. Please post a picture if you can so Joey can see all the cool places his travel bug gets to go!

Joey is a very special friend of mine who I got to "meet" through a non-profit organization called "I Run 4 Michael." The IR4 network (whoirun4.com) pairs runners with special needs kids who may not always be capable of being physically active themselves. The basic idea is that the runner dedicates the miles they run to their assigned buddy and shares pictures and stories with them through social media, forming a supportive friendship between two people who might never have met otherwise.
I run for Joey. He is my coach from afar, my greatest cheerleader, my motivation to (literally!) keep putting one foot in front of the other when I'm too tired to keep running, and my excuse to run when I really should be doing something else. In our short time together I have logged a little over 200mi for him, including a half marathon, and now I look forward to logging as many geocaches as I can for him too! I feel truly honored to be a part of his life!
