This Travel Bug was released on Brownsea Island in UK on 2nd August 2007. This is one day after the Scouting centenary camp celebrations on Brownsea celebrating 100 years of scouting.
As a scout leader at 1st Stoughton Scout Group (based in Guildford Surrey (UK)) we will be celebrating our centenary in 2009.
The mission therefore for this bug is to travel the world visiting as many scout oriented locations as possible. Along its journey we would like it to collect as many more scout badges as possible (please feel free to sew these over the top of the previous layer of badges).
When we have our scout group centenary in 2009 we would like the Travel Bug to head home to a cache in Southern UK (Ideally in Surrey) where we will retrieve it and un-sew the badges it collects.
This TB started off in summer 2007 as a series of scout badges from our group, district and county along with two world badges to hold the stuffing in. Inside, in true Blue Peter fashion, there is a stuffing of tights! If you are a geocacher from a scout group outside UK and would like to trade badges then please drop me a mail.
