I recognised this CO's name, local to me at home, at a cache in Hartlepool and saw there were two more in the area so made a special diversion from my intended hunting patch to visit them. There are now so few reasonable size boxes nowadays that this one was suitable to take a TB.

I'm not sure what to make of memorials to "the glorious dead" and they weren't all heroes. The chap is as Victoria Cross medals are not handed out lightly. You might find the text on the cache page an interesting read.

A virtual visit to a famous bridge still on Teesside and not Arizona. It was supposedly bought and demolished but preserved and reinstalled in the USA. The graphics were very convincilng (pre-CGI) and many people were fooled and upset.
