About This Item

PATIENT # 250 - CHADRICK

Meet Chadrick, patient #250 in our ongoing study of the spread of the zombie plague.   Chadrick was a microbiologist at a research facility in suburban Maryland.  Records recovered from the facility reveal that Chadrick was part of a team of elite scientists trying to find a cure for what we now know is the zombie plague.  Chadrick had what many of his coworkers considered “a difficult personality.”  In his spare time Chadrick volunteered to train customer service representatives at an unnamed cable company.  Chadrick loved snow and loved geocaching, and as a result he mostly found geocaches during the winter months and particularly on dates that corresponded with snowstorms.

Our research has revealed that Chadrick contracted the zombie plague from patient # 248, Zoey.  Zoey was Chadrick’s coworker at the research facility who was bitten by a zombie in containment, Judy, when Zoey was trying to draw a blood sample.  Security camera footage shows that Zoey panicked and ran to her coworkers for help after she was bitten.  However, the strain of Judy’s virus was extremely virulent, and Zoey had already turned by the time she reached the break room where Chadrick was eating a particularly odoriferous fish sandwich (much to his coworkers’ discomfort).  Through the security camera footage we were able to see that Chadrick was so focused on enjoying his sandwich that he didn’t notice Zoey attacking his coworkers and subsequently biting his arm.  Chadwick turned within seconds and he was more interested in eating human flesh than fish sandwiches. Soon, there were not many scientists left in the facility who were able to work on a cure.

This travel bug is part of a larger study to take a closer look at how the zombie plague might propagate if the primary vector for spreading the disease was geocaching.  Please visit the following website for further details, and a visualization of how the disease has propagated thus far based on the movement and discovery of this and other infected Zombie travel bugs:
