Vlk

Vlk obecný (Canis lupus) je velká psovitá šelma. Vlci dosahují hmotnosti 16 až 80 kg. Žijí ve smečkách tvořených obvykle vedoucím alfa párem a několika jejich potomky. Živí se různorodou kořistí od hmyzu až po bizony a pižmoně. Jejich nepřáteli jsou kromě člověka také tygři a medvědi. Hmotnost je 16–80 kg. Vlk má spíše průměrný zrak, ale výborný sluch a čich. Rychlost běhu je 58 km/h. Jiné zdroje uvádějí maximální rychlost až 64 km/h. Vlk dokáže běžet rychlostí 25–50 km/h do vzdálenosti až okolo 20 km. Rychlost se samozřejmě mění v závislosti na terénu a důvodu běhu. Denně může urazit mnoho desítek a někdy i několik stovek kilometrů (zaznamenané maximum je 200 km). Průměrná rychlost pohybu, když vlk neloví nebo neprchá, je 8-10 km/h. Vlci jsou velmi přizpůsobivým živočišným druhem, dokážou žít v pouštích, suchých stepích, v lesích, bažinách i v tundře. Vlci jsou predátoři. Protože loví ve skupině, mohou zabíjet zvířata větší, než jsou oni sami. Živí se hlavně jeleny, losy a severoamerickými soby karibu. Vlk může najednou sníst zřejmě až 10 kg masa. Průměrná spotřeba jedince na den je 1,5–2 kg masa. Když je potřeba, vydrží dlouho hladovět.

Whenever I move a trackable, I put it on my watchlist and I make sure I take a picture when I retrieve it and when I drop it. Therefore, I can compare the timestamp on the photo near the box with that on the watchlist mail from dropping the trackable. Contrary to what pyronaught writes in his/her log the trackable was definitively logged in online before I left GZ.

I tried to grab this at the time but when I found it - it hadn't been logged and I've then not had a moment spare so I am very sorry it was logged as missing. I can confirm all is well and I anticipate the wolf being dropped in to another UK location in the next 7 days after a little rest.
