I am a tribute to Pilots everywhere, military and civilian, General aviation and commerical. But not just the real true to life pilots, but also the dreamers, the well wishers. The r/c hobbists, the book readers, to All who love aviation! Please drop me at caches near airports. Take me on flights. Take pictures of me with anything Aviation. If you fly, take a picture of me next to your plane/helicopter. Can be R/C or real. Model builder? ok! take a picture of me with it! Post the picture online so we can all see and share. Then pass me on to the next place so I can continue my adventure.
For those of you that are pilots, you already know what this is. For those of you that do not know, I will explain. This is what we call an airport taxiway sign. This is how we tell where we are at any point on an airport. The black square means that is the location of your aircraft and position on the airport taxiway. In this case, you would be on taxiway "V" or "Victor". If you were to turn left or "port", then you would be on taxiway "A' or "Alpha" The red "8R" means that runway "8 Right" is directly in front of you. But did you see what else this keychain says? Look closely, do you see it? No?? Then let me help, put the letters together and you get "AV8R" or "Aviator". Clever, isnt it? I thought so too, so much so that I wanted to share with everyone. Thank you all who love aviation and love to fly.
I would like to share a poem by Gary Claude Stoker called, Impressions of a Pilot
Flight is freedom in its purest form,
To dance with the clouds which follow a storm;
To roll and glide, to wheel and spin,
To feel the joy that swells within.
To leave the earth with its troubles and fly,
And know the warmth of a clear spring sky;
Then back to earth at the end of the day,
Released from the tensions which melted away.
Should my end come while I am in flight,
Whether brightest day or darkest night;
Spare me no pity and shrug off the pain,
Secure in the knowledge that I'd do it again.
For each of us is created to die,
And within me I know,
I was born to fly.

Found the travel bug in Fritch,TX. It really touched my heart to find this my grandfather and I aren't very close and this is the second time today I have thought about him. The first was a newspaper cutting of him flying his models but he loves to fly(real) and now that he is older he has to fly models. Thank you for the travel bug. :*)
