The CPU (Central Processing Unit) is the hardware that carries out the instructions on most computers. Also known as the Central Processing Unit or just Processor, it is essentially the computer's brain.
This processor was assembled in Intel's Heredia, Costa Rica plant which opened in 1997. In 2014, Intel moved the assembly and test functions to Asia and the site in Heredia now hosts a research and development center employing over 1,900 peoople.
EDIT 12/2020: The original went missing not long after being released, so I've sent out a replacement CPU that is identical except that it was assembled in one of Intel's Malaysian facilities.
