Current Goal

Clifford is biggish and he's redish, and he is a dog. He would like to wander the world looking for things that are either very big or very red.

He would like it very much if you take a picture of him next to the big and red things that he sees. I know he would like to see the giant redwood trees of California in his travels.

His owner is 7 years old and loves geocaching.

Clifford told us that he wanted to be taken to someplace big and red so we will be scouting around for a good place!

We picked Clifford up from the Tunneling Bookworm Cache. We may not get him photographed, but we'll move him along soon!

We took Clifford on a visit to my wife's grandparents in rural southwestern Virginia. My 2.5 year old daughter (e) enjoyed posing with him and taking his picture with a few big and red things. She has been playing with him off and on since i first picked him up and as you can see by one of the pictures has grown quite fond of him.

We dropped him off in the Tunneling Bookworm cache and as soon as she realized he was staying there she burst into tears. When we got back to the car, she started asking me if we were going to leave her bunny Hippy (the one she sleeps with every night) in a geocache. It took several rounds of reassurances and explanations, but i think i finally got her to understand that while Hippy lives with us, Clifford was just visiting and he had to move along.

So Clifford, fare thee well and if you ever make it back to North Carolina, i know one little girl who will be happy to see you again! Good luck on your travels.

  • Clifford and the Big Barn We call this one the Big Barn because there is a little one as well (or several little ones, depending on what you call a barn). It's both big and red. Clifford is circled so you can pick him out better.
  • Clifford and the Silo This silo was built by my wife's great-grandfather and his sons. It is both big and red.
  • She has grown a little attached to him. As you can tell, we have enjoyed Clifford's stay with us. I think Clifford enjoyed it too!
  • Clifford, e, and the big stump OK, so it's not red, but it's pretty big. The tree was huge and beautiful not so long ago. Now we're left with the stump, which has its own kind of beauty. e obviously thought the photo session was over, but this one turned out to be the best of the stump and the sky.

I told my daughter ("e", 2 and half) that Clifford wanted his picture taken with things that are big or red. I asked her what we could do that was big and she said "me, i'm big". She's not big, but she is a "big girl". I thought that could slide, especially in the red chair.

After a long and arduous experience finding the Holy Wastewater cache I decided to grab this bug and take him to an easier cache (that won't be hard!). I'll see if I can drop him off somewhere soon.

found it while searching for caches at an event. I don't know if I will find anything big and red, but I will pass him on if I don't!!
