Current Goal

I have 3 race car bugs racing to Daytona International Speedway. The first one to get it’s picture taken there wins. Can you help Red-Racer along it’s way? (Pictures along the travel to Daytona would be appreciated.)

Since I have Red-Racer # 20 in my possession, I'm grabbing it back now from M^3 after he grabbed it back to log it in so that the log accurately reflects its history.

It's had a nice time with my wife and I sitting on the oak desk, but inexplicably turned down an oil change and lube, and a chocolate ice-cream cone.

I retrieved this from the Old Brick Road #2 (GC19APM) cache early this afternoon to take it to the Daytona International Speedway and photograph it there. I should be able to do so late this afternoon or early evening.

I hope it makes the little red racer #20 very happy.

I removed this from the Old Brick Road #2 cache today with the intent to drive it the few remaining miles to the Daytona International Speedway and take its picture there.

This cache is about 8 miles from the Speedway. Although the Racer has already met his goal via my pictures, I left it here thinking that somebody might be able to get the Racer inside the speedway, perhaps even during one of the big races in a couple of weeks.

With my apologies to FunNSun22, I'm logging Red-Racer's visit to Daytona International Speedway a few days late (logging on 6/30, backdated to 6/24. It looks like the TB visited the speedway previously as well, but no pictures were ever uploaded then.

Indeed my hotel was right across the street from the Speedway, so I snapped a photo there before heading over to the main entrance.

I should also note that the cache owner is from my home state of Oregon, where I've done a fair amount of caching, and I see a few names in the early history of the TB that I recognize from caches I've found out there. I believe my mother (606 on GC.com) has met a few of the cachers who moved this TB along in Oregon.

Taking this back so I can briefly "drop" it in the cache where I left it.

I picked this up very close to I-10 eastbound, which leads the way to Daytona. However, I'm flying back to Tampa tomorrow, and I'm driving to Daytona on Monday. So I should be able to move this car along its way to the Speedway. I think my hotel is very close to the Speedway.
